Learn how to harness your own authentic style of feminine dominance and put it into action! This class will help you find your own personalized approach to femdom, get more comfortable inhabiting a dominant role, and provide tools for developing your own authentic femdom dynamics, across a wide spectrum of types of power exchange and levels of intensity ranging from short-term play and casual platonic service to 24/7 TPE.

This class is designed to empower those who are interested in exploring femdom, but feel like their identities or desires don't "fit" the common stereotypes of a femdom D/s dynamic. This includes non-cis gender identities, folks with disabilities or chronic illness, and kinksters from cultures with strong stigmas around violating gender norms, among others.

This class explores trauma play, focusing on how and why people engage in it and what happens on a psychological and relational level. We’ll cover what it looks like in practice, how pleasure and intentionality shape the experience, and what people mean when they talk about ‘healing’ in this context. I also bring in current research, including findings from my upcoming study, in a way that’s accessible and puts participants' lived experiences at the forefront. We will outline risks, common misconceptions, and potential pitfalls when there isn’t enough communication or support in place. The goal is for people to leave with an evidence-based understanding of trauma play, as well as tips to find kink-aware and affirming mental health support. Without idealizing or pathologizing the practice, it gives you a space to look closely at something many people know intimately and want to finally understand. Join us for a kinky deep-dive, with plenty of time for questions and chit-chat!

This class deep-dives into conditioning, training, and ritual within long-term power exchange dynamics. We’ll cover core psychological concepts like classical and operant conditioning, habit formation, and reinforcement, and then connect them directly to kink practices such as protocol, cue-based behaviors, reward systems, and corrective feedback.

The class also draws from a long-term behavior modification and training program I developed and implemented within my own dynamic, using it as an example of how these concepts translate into practice over time. We’ll look at how to design training structures that feel sustainable and supportive, including how to integrate training into everyday life without it becoming all-consuming.

We’ll speak of ongoing consent and ongoing renegotiation, limit consent, and being transparent about psychological influence, especially when working with dynamics that can have a lasting impact on how someone thinks, feels, or sees themselves.

Many of us carry stories of being controlled, silenced, captured, possessed, overpowered, bound, or disconnected from our authentic Selves and desires. While these experiences may arise from gender expectations, cultural conditioning, family systems, religious messages, relationships, marginalization, and personal trauma, they often become internalized and embodied long after the original circumstances have passed and talk therapy has been completed. Leaving subtle but profound layers behind. 

This experiential workshop explores how consensual BDSM, ritual, and altered states of consciousness can be used as tools for transformation. Participants will examine the ways power, desire, consent, autonomy, and self-expression have been shaped by their lived experiences and will engage in a guided symbolic and somatic experience designed to explore the movement from constraint toward sovereignty.

Drawing from somatic practices, ritual, depth psychology, psychodrama, embodied work, and kink, this workshop invites participants into a collaborative experience rather than a traditional lecture. Through reflection, discussion, experiential exercise, nervous system regulation, and integration attendees will investigate what it means to consciously release inherited limitations and expand their capacity for pleasure, agency, authenticity, and freedom.

In recent years, the network of local, regional, and state competitions have seen fewer competitors, and many competitions and titles no longer exist. Some competitions and leather organizations have also become tainted by failures to reject racism, sexism, and transphobia, wounds that refuse to heal.

Meanwhile, titleholding can be a financially devastating experience. Many persons of service who want to hold titles simply cannot afford to do so.

This conversation will be about our experiences in relationship to these issues, our desires to see and make change, and our dreams to see both ourselves and others finally represented in international leather.

In this class, a neurodivergent Dominant/submissive duo explores how ritual and protocol can become tools for grounding, connection, accessibility, and intentional power exchange rather than rigid performance metrics. Together, we’ll discuss creating sustainable systems that honor both authority and accommodation, including adapting protocols for ADHD, autism, anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, and differing processing styles. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for building rituals that support consistency without punishment spirals, enforcing protocol with compassion and accountability, and navigating the unique realities of neurodivergent D/s dynamics. This class centers marginalized experiences, collaborative communication, and the belief that accessibility and authority are not mutually exclusive

This session explores the overarching historical archetypes and stereotypes of Chicanas, Mexicanas, and Latinas in general, to consider how they inform how we come to kink and the ways others understand us. Exploring and moving beyond the virgin/whore dichotomy and its respectability politics, I suggest we embrace a project of Chingona Sexual Politics which centers the sexual empowerment and pleasure politics of Chicanas and Latinas through challenging, embracing, and remaking of the virgin/whore dichotomy and the bad woman figurel. How can we come to kink in ways that truly strengthen and honor our lived experiences and theories of the flesh as Chicanas and Latinas? Together we explore this.

Race Play is often considered to be one of the most controversial and taboo kinks. It is banned from many teaching organizations, events and dungeons, and even discussion groups. Despite the controversy around it, there is still joy, catharsis, power, play, healing, and more to be cultivated in this kink - just like any other. In this class, we will look at different types of race play (including both Bright and Dark Race Play), discuss why it is deemed so controversial, explore strategies to talk raceplay with play partners, develop tools to negotiate and navigate race play scenes, and discuss how race affects us all and how the controversy of race play is affected by this.

This social is a celebration of longevity in kink; notably, the experiences, knowledge, and continued presence of kinksters who have spent years—often decades—shaping our communities. Join us as we share stories across generations and explore the unique joys, challenges, and visibility of aging within kink and BDSM spaces.

This class offers a practical, feminist introduction to female-led relationships and femdom dynamics for women who are curious, newly exploring, or feeling a little stuck. Through the lens of a 40-year kinkster and lifelong feminist, we'll examine how patriarchal conditioning shapes our expectations of dominant women — and how to unlearn it. Topics include understanding your own wants and limits, building presence and consistency, communication strategies, and the many ways a woman-led dynamic can be structured. No experience is required.

STI stigma affects all of us, but how we experience it depends on who we are and where we stand in our communities. This class presents findings from a community-wide survey on STI stigma, broken down by community role and experience. Rather than just presenting data, we'll move through findings category by category. Before each reveal, the audience fills out the survey in real time so we can compare your responses to others based on their own community membership. You'll leave with a clearer sense of how STI stigma operates across our communities and concrete ways to reframe and combat it where you are.

A gathering designed specifically for kinksters ages 18–24 to share perspectives, ask questions, and explore the unique experiences of entering and navigating kink as a young adult. This lounge creates room for conversations around identity, consent, relationships, and finding one’s place within kink and BDSM spaces.

We're all vulnerable to burnout in this current world climate, and kink explorers, especially those contending with marginalization, can be at higher risk of experiencing burnout both in and out of a kink context. This could impact their longevity in the kink community and their ability to continue resisting the oppressive systems we all live within.

Together we'll unpack what burnout and the stress cycle are, and how burnout traits might impact or emerge within kink dynamics. Whether you're already navigating burnout in your daily life, hoping to mitigate it where you can or noticing signs in your kink experiences, we'll explore ways to communicate about and address burnout so that you can continue being your kinkiest, most radical & connected self.

How do you organise in a city with no gay bars? This class will talk through the practicalities of setting up an event when your town doesn't make it easy for you, or where there's no shared understanding of the kinds of kink/leather culture you're invested in.

We'll discuss logistical issues and some challenges we've faced in developing a trans-inclusive leatherdyke community in a city without any links to recent or historic leatherdyke culture and without financial/housing security or healthcare.

Creating inclusive kink communities requires more than good intentions; though those don’t hurt. While centering disability and accessibility, this panel examines the broader barriers that impact access to disabled kinksters. It’s not just about the physical access to spaces, it’s also about how we all come to the barriers and how we break free of them. Topics include general participation, event design, organizational culture, and the desire for inclusion. Panelists will discuss practical approaches to success, and reframing ones’ beliefs, toward a change that is more than inclusive, it’s accessible.

How do you ask for what you can't want? For some of us, the joy of CNC is in going past what you enjoy. This workshop will explore how to negotiate scenes with limits that can go beyond a "red".

We will focus on the self-knowledge and communication skills needed to figure out the real risks of this play, learn to identify the difference between "something I don't want to do (but can get something out of)" and "something that will harm me if I do it", and learn how to handle it when we get that balance wrong. We will discuss risk awareness, risk mitigation, negotiation and aftercare specific to no safewords play. For those with a good foundation in consent, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills and some existing familiarity with CNC play that uses safewords.

Note: KBtL is an international event and experiences of racial justice and white privilege may vary depending on the geographical culture.

A discussion on creating, cultivating and navigating Kink spaces in historically colonized communities, drawn from the experiences of two kink practitioners one from the marginalized community, the other from the colonizing country. We explore the various challenges we've both experienced building and integrating a kink community from a different cultural context, institutional and cultural barriers, and ways these lessons can be expanded to other communities for safer and more aware kink practices for us all

Experimenting with gender, seeking out gender affirmation, and affirming the gender-related wishes of your partner(s) in kink can spark uncertainty or stress -- but genderf*ckery need not be so serious!

This class explores fun and practical ways to affirm, explore, communicate about, and generally f*ck around with gender within kinky scenes, centering genderfluid, nonbinary, trans, and other marginalized gender identities but applicable to anyone interested in deconstructing the narrow lines of heteronormativity. We'll explore ways to apply gender affirmation to specific kinks, to more expansively utilize positions/touch/objects/gender-related terminology, to float fantasies related to gender, and to generally feel a lot more free about how our gender is showing up in kink!

You may be white, non-white or a person of color/ a person having a ongoing or changing racialized experience within kink culture. Let's start by acknowledging that the majority of the people reading this text (oh and maybe while we are naming things, maybe the majority of people facilitating in this conference) are white. How do we change that? Why is it important in this workshop to name that the majority of people visible in the kink community  are white? When the author of this text, i am talking about myself, is a queer, trans*/non-binary, immigrant, and Black with Indigenous to the americas and African diasporic ancestry; also krip, non-european, poor, palpable, orphan, educated, and femme. Consent is commonly thought of as yes or no, but it’s really not that. My point is, in the white discourse on consent within the kink community, the baseline or status quo is “this is consent”: yes/no. We will begin this workshop, by thinking by racism and whiteness in kink spaces, in collectivity,  and in separatist spaces. How can clarity hold complexity, and also invite us to participating in creating(some of) what is needed to enter a place of discomfort. We will start with with a undoing the concept of " universalized consent' and look at its relationship to  race, power and privilege, we will move into practice-based research in the following areas: embodied consent, implicit consent, and explicit consent.

One of the greatest things about my HRT journey has been bottom growth. The developing of my tdick has immensely impacted and shifted the ways I have sex with others as well as pleasure myself. In this course I am going to share some of my favorite methods, toys, and tools for tdick/bottom growth stimulation (and partnered sex)- as well as talk about tdick health/hygiene tips. I will also open up the floor to conversation and answer questions surrounding all the different ways to have gender euphoric sexual experiences, so we can all learn from each other. [Trigger Warning: gender dysphoria, transphobia, critique of language around genitalia]

Ageplayers often find themselves on the edges of the kink community, but even among ageplayers there is a group that is often left out- the middles. This class will look at what middlespace is, how to craft middlespace scenes, and how to make your ageplay events more middle-friendly.

We often talk about power and privilege through the lens of common demographic categories (race, sex, ability, age, etc.) but as we spend time in kink communities, we become aware of additional layers of power, privilege, and marginalization. This class explores areas of power that arise within the kink community, encouraging learners to explore their own privileges and how those privileges impact how we go about consent, play, and community building.

This space rests on a framework I have curated over the years called Bound to Heal. Bound to Heal is both a philosophy and a practice of returning to wholeness through the art of surrender. It weaves together African spirituality, particularly the wisdom of Ifa, somatic healing, and the sacred erotic. At its core, it invites us to explore how letting go can become an act of reclamation for our bodies, our desires, and our divine authority. Through this framework, I examine the ways in which Black femmes, and those who identify with the feminine, can transform pain into power by embracing softness as strength, structure as safety, and submission as self-actualization. It’s not about bondage for the sake of restraint; it’s about binding ourselves to truth, to healing, and to the version of us that is finally free.

Blissful Surrender: A Black Woman's Guide through Sacred Submission is a transformative curriculum designed to re-center the submissive experience within the lived realities of Black women. It assists in the decolonization of kink by shifting the narrative of submission from one of historical subjugation to a conscious, empowering choice that fosters personal liberation and self-actualization. By explicitly addressing the external societal barriers and internalized self-limiting beliefs unique to Black women, the course provides a roadmap for breaking through stereotypes and subverting the expectations of a world that often denies Black femmes the right to their own vulnerability. This decolonial approach is further realized by encouraging participants to explore spirituality beyond traditional dogma, allowing for the creation of a personalized spiritual framework that honors their divine authority and communal wellness.

This class will explore feedist fiction as a vehicle of healing from fatphobia and restrictive eating. In the first half of the class, I will give a brief overview of my experience with disordered eating and body dysmorphia as well as my experience in the Tumblr feedism community. I will provide examples of my own writing and describe the ways in which they work to undo my own disordered or dysmorphic thinking around food and bodies.

In the second half of the class, I will lead a writing exercise where participants are asked to reimagine a scene from a movie/book/their own work to include at least one character in a fat body. The object of this exercise is to describe this fat character in a positive, desirable light. How does their body look and feel? How do they take up space in the scene? What positive connotations do they, or the narrating character, associate with their body? What does representing them as fat change about the scene or about societal standards?

What if pleasure, softness, hunger, fullness, and fatness could become acts of rebellion instead of things to hide?

In this class, we’ll explore the intersections of kink, body image, food, pleasure, and healing through the lenses of food play, feederism, fat liberation, and radical self-love. Together, we’ll discuss how these dynamics can challenge shame, fight stigma, reconnect us to our bodies, and create deeper intimacy with ourselves and others.

The Keynote Event is separated into two parts. The first is a community space; wherein we will host an open mic for folks to share a little about their kinky desires. Whether through author readings, poetry slams, sharing of physical artwork, music, or dance; participants will have time to engage with the community with 1-5 minutes of mic time. After, we will come together for a wrap up, a connecting thought, an address. This year’s Keynote Address will be given by Meredith, in a way that looks at the parts of our kink world that conform and divide us, but more about the ways we can come together and look at our future. In Meredith’s own words: in a world that demands conformity, kink provides a foundational architecture for radical acceptance. Explicit consent, a commitment to transparency, and vulnerable self-expression draw us into a sacred space for dismantling and rewriting the scripts society imposes on us. Using queer identity and relationship development as frameworks, revolutionary kinksters create our own models of community, family, and joy.

It’s easy to get frustrated when our desires don’t align with our physical or mental capacity. Submissives may long to endure more pain or provide specific acts of service, dominants may want to top at a certain intensity level or engage in specific forms of control – but chronic illness, pain, disability, fatigue, neurodivergence, trauma responses, and mental health challenges can get in the way. We’ll explore the grief, shame, and vulnerability that arises when this happens, and discuss practical adaptations, communication strategies, and creative renegotiation. Attendees will examine internalized ableism and self-induced pressure to “perform,” and leave with tools to honor ourselves and our partners exactly as we are.

In this session we'll look at what we can do as attendees, volunteers, and/or organisers to help make positive change in the kink community and make it more accessible. From the tiny baby steps to the big scary ones - if we all do what we can, change will happen!The ideas presented are from discussions with disabled, chronically ill & neurodivergent kinksters which have been turned into an actionable list (and a printable one too to share with fellow kinksters or you local organisers).

Lexi's negotiation style has been built around her own experience of autism and, more recently, chronic illness. Lexi's need for accuracy and efficiency is front & centre. She also just enjoys organising and paperwork, so she loves more complex negotiation styles, although she is always open to middle grounds if the person she's playing with isn't into that. Lexi's core belief is that communication, and therefore negotiation, is a team sport. With all that in mind - let's learn about negotiating for kink scenes when your body and/or brain are a little more complicated.

Impact play is a consensual BDSM activity that involves hitting/striking another human being. Many people use this form of play for sexual gratification or in power exchange, but others use it for different reasons, including connection and catharsis. Examples of this include slapping, punching, kicking, spanking, caning, and flogging.This is a beginners guide to impact play, and a core pillar of BDSM is safety. Topics will include but are not limited to: the definition of impact play, anatomy of the human body and safety/first aid, impact play techniquesand, how to create an impact play scene. I will also share my experiences as a blind dominant and impact player.

Join Mx Dizzy for "The Cluster F*ck that is Cluster B," an eye-opening discussion that takes a long, deep look into the complexities of Cluster B personality disorders (the DSM categorization which includes Borderline, Narcissistic, Histrionic, and Antisocial Personality Disorders). This no-BS breakdown will explore symptoms, causes, and treatment options while also addressing the insidious stigma surrounding these conditions both in and out of the mental health system.

This facilitated discussion is explicit and intentional about opening conversations about write privilege and racial inequity worldwide. Here we will confront the realities of white privilege and the ways that this privilege has been reproduced within kink and BDSM communities. While centering BIPOC experiences, this session will challenge participants to move beyond awareness and into accountability and allyship to examine the systems, behaviours, and cultural norms that create barriers to belonging and safety. Note: KBtL is an international event and experiences of racial justice and white privilege may vary depending on the geographical culture.

Exploring Inflation Fetish takes a playful and informative look at one of kink’s more imaginative interests. This class introduces participants to the origins and appeal of inflation fetish, highlighting the reasons people enjoy it, the methods used, and the themes that often appear in scenes. We will explore balloon play, bubble gum scenarios, and pool floaty inflation, discussing how each is incorporated and what fantasies they support. Attendees will also learn about common archetypes within the fetish and watch live demonstrations that show how these objects are used. Through storytelling and honest dialogue, this fireside chat highlights perspectives that are too often overlooked while inviting deeper reflection on navigating gender in the kink and BDSM communities.

Let’s be real: watersports is wildly popular, yet packed with stigma. This is especially true for kinksters who are already marginalized in other ways. In a community where so many of us are already self-conscious about peeing in a locked stall, it’s hard to imagine using the term “comfort” with the concepts of urinating on (or in) someone. This session is about opening the door away from the discomfort and shame and addressing the reasons people engage in this kink. We will come at this from a community perspective, and without judgement. We will address the practicalities like setup and cleanup, and logistics; how to participate authentically and from a shame reduction perspective; and safety considerations. Race Play is often considered to be one of the most controversial and taboo kinks. It is banned from many teaching organizations, events and dungeons, and even discussion groups. Despite the controversy around it, there is still joy, catharsis, power, play, healing, and more to be cultivated in this kink - just like any other. In this class, we will look at different types of race play (including both Bright and Dark Race Play), discuss why it is deemed so controversial, explore strategies to talk raceplay with play partners, develop tools to negotiate and navigate race play scenes, and discuss how race affects us all and how the controversy of race play is affected by this.

This class explores what it means to engage in Master/slave dynamics while actively unpacking the impacts of colonization, generational trauma, and cultural identity. Centered in the lived experience of a BIPOC woman, we will examine how internalized beliefs, survival patterns, and inherited histories shape our understanding of authority, devotion, and consent. Special attention is given to navigating dynamics where the “Master” exists within dominant Western frameworks, and how cultural dissonance can surface in power exchange. This space invites participants to reflect, unlearn, and rebuild dynamics rooted in intention, autonomy, and cultural reclamation.

Leather Storytelling is about taking ownership of why we find solace and pleasure in kink, and coming out of the shadows to make our voices heard as in all the ways our marginalization intersects.. This workshop is designed for all variety of folks who find kink or leather to be a driving force in their lives, regardless of experience or dynamic(s). We will focus on telling the stories of our experiences, our communities, and of ourselves. Leather Storytelling is an interactive workshop that explores what it means to tell our stories when as marginalized leather folk, we are often silenced, and pushed out of even the most progressive spaces that deem us as inappropriate or obscene. Through guided writing exercises, workshop participants will discover the transformative power of storytelling and how it can be used to break down divides, foster and preserve community, and build coalitions within the leather community and beyond.

What is the role of kink, sex, and queerness in videogames, boardgame, and roleplaying games? How do or sexual selves fit into our playful spaces? This talk will discuss the role of intimacy—especially kinky and queer intimacy—in games, how games engage with themes of the erotic, and where game designers, players, and kinksters intersect.

This workshop explores how race, marginalisation and lived experience shape our relationship to power, safety and belonging within BDSM and kink. Drawing on trauma-informed practice and my experience as a mixed-race Black British intimacy coach, participants will reflect on topics including fetishisation, implicit bias, nervous system safety and authentic choice. Through guided discussion and reflection, we will explore how kink communities can move beyond inclusion towards creating environments where people feel genuinely seen, understood and safe. The session is educational rather than accusatory and is intended to foster thoughtful dialogue, self-reflection and community learning. Participants should expect discussions relating to race, marginalisation, fetishisation and consent.

What happens when traditional D/s advice doesn’t account for sensory overwhelm, executive dysfunction, rejection sensitivity, communication differences, or fluctuating capacity? In this class, a neurodivergent Dominant/submissive duo explores how ritual and protocol can become tools for grounding, connection, accessibility, and intentional power exchange rather than rigid performance metrics. Together, we’ll discuss creating sustainable systems that honor both authority and accommodation, including adapting protocols for ADHD, autism, anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, and differing processing styles. Attendees will leave with practical strategies for building rituals that support consistency without punishment spirals, enforcing protocol with compassion and accountability, and navigating the unique realities of neurodivergent D/s dynamics. This class centers marginalized experiences, collaborative communication, and the belief that accessibility and authority are not mutually exclusive

This workshop is for people who experience gender dysphoria and our playpartners. Gender dysphoria is a struggle for a lot of genderqueer (incl. butches), trans* (including non-binary, agender, genderfluid and indigenous gender identities) and intersex people and our playpartners. But we are perverts, right? We use kink to cope with negative emotions! I love turing things that make my life hard into hot play! You too? Let´s talk about how we can do that! As a person affected by gender dysphoria: What do we need to feel safe enough to engage in this workshop and in conversations about dysphoria play? What themes/ scenes are "just the right amount" of dysphoria for you? What would be too much? What can we do, if it gets too much? What do you need from playpartners in order to do dysphoria play? And for everyone: What can we do to make that play as safe as possible, hot and fun? What do people not affected by gender dysphoria need in order to engage in dysphoria play?

Please be aware, that this workshop could be triggering gender dysphoria and take care of yourself during and afterwards.

I expect attendees to be able to talk about transness and the experience of gender dysphoria in a respectful way. No primary knowledge of dysphoria play needed, but very welcome! I will share my experiences and provide a structure, so you can share yours or your thoughts and ideas about it! This session will focus on the perspectives of people affected by gender dysphoria. People not affected will be asked to be aware of the space and hold back a little.

Are you a cis person who would like to share space with or play with trans* people, but you are worried about saying or doing the wrong things? This class is your chance to ask a trans* person the questions you think (or have been told) you shouldn’t ask. Join slightlyintopain for this session which will start with information about how to respectfully talk about trans* people, trans* bodies, transitioning, and how experiences for trans* people differ from those of cis people. After that you will have an opportunity to ask any questions, as long as they are coming from a respectful perspective. You will come away from this class with more knowledge about how to engage in respectful conversations with trans* people, how to get fewer things wrong, and what to do when you do make mistakes.

Important note: any attempt to debate trans* peoples’ existence and trans* peoples’ right to live authentically will NOT be tolerated, and you may be asked to leave the session and/or the conference if you engage in that behavior.

This interactive discussion-based workshop explores kink as a form of kinship-making. Drawing from queer theory, lived experience, and community practice, participants will examine how kinky relationships create forms of belonging that challenge conventional understandings of kinship, intimacy, and care. Together, we will consider questions such as: What makes someone kin? How do power exchange relationships produce forms of responsibility and accountability? How do kinky networks support people whose needs are not met by biological family, marriage, or traditional social structures? Rather than positioning kinship as something that exists separately from kink, this workshop invites participants to explore how kinky communities already engage in complex practices of worldmaking, care, and relational creativity.

Dom/sub and top/bottom are two well-known axes of the role division in a scene. It can be helpful, however, to consider other axes: logistical topping, whose pleasure is centered, who is holding the space for the scene, and others. Just as you can be a masochistic dominant, you can want to tie people up but not decide where they stand or not be the one creating the "scene atmosphere". In this session we will discuss all the different ways to see who does what in the scene in a way that works for all participants.

Throughout our lives, starting as children, we are trained to ignore our bodies. You are often woken up before your body is ready to get to school, then forced to sit still for prolonged periods, eat at designated times, and ask permission to go to the bathroom, sometimes denying those needs. While it’s one thing to consent to these dynamics as kinky adults, it’s another when we are disconnected from our bodily cues due to years of (non-consensual) conditioning.
In this space, we will begin to explore embodiment practices that can help you learn to get back in touch with how your body is communicating and to find your embodied yes/no so you can increase your bodily awareness and capacity for pleasure, joy, and consensual play.

“Fawning” is an activation response where people do things they don’t want to do and often don’t feel good about it afterwards. This spectrum of behavior can range from appearing to consent to things you’re not interested in through appearing to go along with activities that are retraumatizing. Fawning can therefore make having consensual interactions complicated for all involved. Whether you or someone you are playing with engages in fawning, it can be difficult to recognize the warning signs due to the lack of general awareness around these behaviors. Disrupting fawning is especially important within kink and BDSM spaces where intentional power dynamics are often at play, and where pick-up play means that decisions are often made within a short period of time and sometimes with unfamiliar play partners. We all deserve to have consensual experiences where we feel safe to share our needs, and this workshop will help you develop the tools to get you and those you play with there.

How do you organise in a city with no gay bars? This class will talk through the practicalities of setting up an event when your town doesn't make it easy for you, or where there's no shared understanding of the kinds of kink/leather culture you're invested in.

We'll discuss logistical issues and some challenges we've faced in developing a trans-inclusive leatherdyke community in a city without any links to recent or historic leatherdyke culture and without financial/housing security or healthcare.

How do you ask for what you can't want? For some of us, the joy of CNC is in going past what you enjoy. This workshop will explore how to negotiate scenes with limits that can go beyond a "red".

We will focus on the self-knowledge and communication skills needed to figure out the real risks of this play, learn to identify the difference between "something I don't want to do (but can get something out of)" and "something that will harm me if I do it", and learn how to handle it when we get that balance wrong. We will discuss risk awareness, risk mitigation, negotiation and aftercare specific to no safewords play. For those with a good foundation in consent, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills and some existing familiarity with CNC play that uses safewords.
