Standing in Boots: Being Present & Accountable During Conflict (Extended Access)
ZoomCity
Duration: 90 minutes
Topic: Connection, Other Marginalization
Type: Class

Conflict is not the enemy; disconnection is. When we approach strife as a sacred messenger, we honor the spirit of Leather itself and the values we chose to walk in. This workshop adapts Sobonfu Somé's 'The Spirit of Intimacy' to guide us in transforming disagreements into opportunities for deeper connection. Creating a counter culture that prioritizing productive resolution over personal comfort, standing in our boots is being present and accountable when situations get uncomfortable. By drawing from both Somé's teachings and Leather culture's principles of ritual, power exchange, community accountability, and honoring lineage we'll build a framework for intimate, safe conflict rather than destructive.
