When many of us see kink and bdsm practices, it’s from the lens of colonialism, carceral punishment and harm only. Caritia invites folks to take a more rounded view of these practices, one that incorporates the ritual practices of the African diaspora and the indigenous peoples of the South. Not to ignore colonial histories, but place them in perspective and take an intentional approach to exploring somatics and body exploration.
