Often events and spaces focus on Accessibility: can we get in the door and attend the classes. That is not enough to include us as full members of the community: respected leaders, presenters, and those others turn to. That may not be enough for us to build connections and network. I will use my experience as a blind educator as a jumping off point to explore what real inclusion looks like, focused on being part of community not just access to events and spaces. My focus is from a disability lens but I welcome other lenses to community inclusion.
