This session explores the overarching historical archetypes and stereotypes of Chicanas, Mexicanas, and Latinas in general, to consider how they inform how we come to kink and the ways others understand us. Exploring and moving beyond the virgin/whore dichotomy and its respectability politics, I suggest we embrace a project of Chingona Sexual Politics which centers the sexual empowerment and pleasure politics of Chicanas and Latinas through challenging, embracing, and remaking of the virgin/whore dichotomy and the bad woman figurel. How can we come to kink in ways that truly strengthen and honor our lived experiences and theories of the flesh as Chicanas and Latinas? Together we explore this.
